Red squirrel

Sciurus vulgaris

It is a rodent mammal of diurnal habits, easily recognised for its long tail, up to 20 centimeters, that allows it to balance and guide itself as it jumps from one tree to the other through the branches.

It is found in the Mediterranean pine forests and it specializes in feeding on seeds such as acorns and pineapples.
