Stone pine

Pinus pinea

An Eastern Mediterranean typical tree, very abundant in the lowland coast forming pine forests.

It has a straight and robust trunk and a dense, rounded crown. It can grow up to 20 meters in height.

Its fruit is the pineapple. It contains edible pine nuts that are highly valued in confectionery for making cakes, nougat or panellets.
